Is it immoral to work for the government at the fiscal area?
Looking from one side, it is a job that wouldn’t exist in the free market, like cops or fireman, but from other point of view, if someone is going to get the money from this job, it’s better to be a libertarian. Maybe try to do a bad job so less people get taxed, lol.
I think it is a personal preference issue that has been questioned and debated times before on this site. If you did get the job and did a bad job of it, it would morally be even worse than doing a good job. If you did a bad job it would end up costing taxpayers more money to fix what you had already done.
In order to get things to change governmentally, we will need someone in government to start that change, unfortunately.
As long as you’re not a DEA agent or something. There are a lot of jobs where libertarians can be very helpful, everything from being a judge to some kind of councilman or representative, etc.
If you are a libertarian (or even an anarchist), I find nothing wrong in becoming apart of the political system. A good poker player needs to play the cards they are dealt with.
