WWII material

I am looking for some good books about WWII, particularly books that speak out against the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Anything would be helpful, thanks.

Day of Deceit was written by the guy who found the McCollum memo.

History of Second World War

By Basil Liddell Hart

See last section of that huge book. There was no strategic reason to bomb those cities, because communications were cut and nobody heard of the boming until war was over, except high commmand, and important members high command were not swayed by either bombing to end the war, only economic considerations finally swayed emperor to surrender.

That this would happen was know to strategists in US and Britain, and nuclear strikes were merely justifications for money spent on bomb development and material refinement needed to manufacture bombs.

Note the contradiction in your post .

Indeed, economic factors and reduced communication were a contributing factor ending the war AND the bombing of Japanese centers of gravity decisively caused these developments and subsequently the end of the war.

Moreover, the Emperor himself in his first ever address to the Japanese people stated the following:

the enemy has begun to employ a new and most cruel bomb, the power of which to do damage is, indeed, incalculable, taking the toll of many innocent lives. Should We continue to fight, not only would it result in an ultimate collapse and obliteration of the Japanese nation, but also it would lead to the total extinction of human civilization. – emperor hirohito, August 1945

Indeed, the anarchist is always confronted with a cruel conundrum because of their faith-based hatred of America and its use of armed force to protect its national interests.

In their view, American use of force can never be justified under any conditions even against the most cruel and barbaric despots because to do so would be to justify both the use of force to obtain desired ends and America itself.

Hence, the anarchist must always defend mass murderers and torturous regimes like Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, Saddam’s Iraq, et al if America destroys these heinous regimes even if this action leads to a net increase in freedom, prosperity, stabilty, and peace.

Indeed, to support their hatred of all things American, these same anarchists will manufacture phantoms and conspiracy theories when these diversions feed their faith-based misconceptions and fantasies.

Hence, the need to find material to feed this misguided addiction and hatred of all things involving America and its use of force to preserve life, liberty and private property from statists abroad.

How about exploring an objective, independent thinking and rational analysis of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

Wouldn’t that be a novel approach to the truth ?

@ John James & thelion, Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll look into them.
