Yet Another Hypothetical Situation

Is it possible for unskilled labor to be worth more than skilled labor? In the situation I propose, there is an island full of smart people who hate doing unskilled labor and try to avoid it, instead looking for the intelligent, skilled positions and trying to keep them.

I suppose it would depend on the separate market demands and supplies for unskilled and skilled labour? In that case, unskilled labour would be worth more on that island.

You’d have to define “skilled” and “unskilled.”

I don’t see why not if the work is particularly unpleasant or dangerous.

Yeah, could and does happen.
