I would say:

Washington-Whiskey Rebellion, FBUS, high tarriffs, expanded standing military presence greatly

Madison-War of 1812, 2nd BUS, huge spending, high protective tarriff.

McKinley–Span-Am War, started American intervention overseas, insanely high tarriff.

Harry Truman–horrible bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, took over the steel industry, tried to implement universal health care, Cold Warrior from hell.

LBJ–Civil Rights Act 64, Medicare, hugely escalated the Vietnam War with false flag incident and draft.

You have McKinley but not Theodore Roosevelt?

The OP has no sense of proportion. Like Beefheart said, replace McKinley with Teddy Roosevelt. Replace Washington and Madison with G.W Bush and Obama.

I can understand McKinley being there… precedent is important and whatnot, but Teddy is 100% more important.

I was actually thinking about putting TJR, due to the FDA, trust-busting, and all of his other stupid things like invasion of panama, but McKinley got the ball rolling. I guess I could agree that TJR is worse.

Truth be told, it was originally 7 with GW Bush and Obama, but I left out Bush for a few reasons mainly the fact that he lowered taxes and didn’t renew the Assault weapons ban. Plus, Bush didn’t establish a draft.

What did you find to be terribly oppressive about the suppression of the Whiskey Rebellion? My biggest beef with GW is the BUS, but I don’t even think he should be on the list.

I particularly dislike Lyndon B. Johnson and George W. Bush. These two had a mission - a vision - that resulted in the deaths of many, many people.

Yea, but Washington was president at the time, and that’s probably what the OP was referring to. I’m not commenting on whether he is right or wrong.

I definitely agree with LBJ being on there. Both Bush and Obama belong on there too for massive expansion of the federal government.

Yes, I’m sorry, the BUS means the Bank of the United States. And although I am informed that it was mostly the pet idea of Alexander Hamilton, George Washington was indeed the President of the Union and he did sign the bank bill into law. Alexander didn’t “do” anything; he was just the originator of the proposal for the Bank and its foremost advocate. It was the concrete action of George Washington which actually brought the Bank into being.

I would probably throw Nixon somewhere up on the list considering all the regulations he pushed through while President.
