I am just amused by their choice of words. Magnifying on the above article shows classy choice of words like “villainous bum bonkers”. It’s a common thread that runs from the Nigerian article in top to the Ugandan one in the last.
It’s interesting - for all the tribalistic homosexual acts that used to exist in Africa, it seems the British colonial authorities were so effective in stamping out ritualistic coming-of-age gay sex of a young man with an elder chief, that those Africans themselves adopted the worst of ancient British homophobia.
You can take the colonialism out of the colony, but not the colony out of colonialism. Yeah, something like that.
It would seem editorial policies in Africa are wonderfully liberal and PC-free:

The paper, using logic and editorial policy that one might charitably describe as bizarre, chose to describe German midfield general Bastian Schweinsteiger as having the work rate of Stefan Effenberg (fine so far) and the ‘fearsome aura of Adolf Hitler’.
As far as we’re aware there isn’t an authoritative midfielder in the lower levels of the Bundesliga with that name, so we can only assume that they did in fact mean that Adolf Hitler.
And if that wasn’t enough, scribe Kgomotso Mokoena described the German team as ‘young toy soldiers’, while the Spanish will apparently be ‘hunted like someone after Osama bin Laden’, and Germany ‘blitzed’ Argentina.
Hehehe, this is just one of the most silliest things I have ever seen. For some reason it reminds me of the kind of fake news headlines that 50s alien movies showed.
