Anyway, here’s my reply to that nonsense:

The problem with applying the bill of rights to the states is that it would leave it up to the Federal government up to enforce them, like they did (very inefficiently and very tyrannically) during Reconstruction. I don’t want the Federal government enforcing my rights. For example, think about all the problems that would come from an Amendment that would nationally legalize marijuana. It would have something wrong with it by nature: Congress would have to enforce it. The Articles of Confederation allowed freedom of movement, and total confederalism and we’d sure have a lot more liberty under that than we do under the Constittution. Freedom of movement in a confederal union is really as good as it gets under a state. The 14th Amendment is probably worse for libertarians than the 16th Amendment is and the 16th Amendment probably never could’ve been ratified had the 14th Amendment never existed. It may sound good in theory, but in reality, it would be a disaster having the Federal government enforce the Bill of Rights on the states.

Has anyone else here ever read anything else by that blogger? If so, what is he doing attacking Ron Paul with nothing but nonsense?

It’s just an abortion fundamentalist. The writer does not understand that Paul personally doesn’t believe in abortion, but realizes that the federal government can not interefere with those decisions.

Also, libertarian is a broad category. Are we for borders at all? if so then youre not a libertarian. and the writer doesn’t realize that referring to people as “libertarians” is itself a collectivist mode of thinking.

Just another person that expressing that they do not properly understand individualism.

Ayn Rand. haha ralph nader is the best on her. “she overcompensated for the abuses of the soviet system.”

I am amazed that people who call themselves Libertarians would hold to the fantasy that a bunch of government employees in black muumuus can save your liberty and create a freer and more prosperous world. Granted these folks have a silly amount of power as 5 of 9 of them can rewrite Constitution as they please. But if you believe in liberty, and limited or no governmen, how could you hold any faith in people who have this much power to weild it to give themselves less power?

I guess that is as big as one held by Ron Paul and a few others that the Republican Party, you know the party of small government, can reduce the size and scope of the USA Federal Government.
