Any Jason Lewis Fans?

For those of you who do not know who he is, he is a talk radio host that got his start here in the Minneapolis / St Paul market.

Hands down the best radio talk host in the country that I am aware of.

You can stream his show here:

Last night he took a caller to task and it was great. The kid calls in and tries to box Jason in by bringing up handicapped people and how would they be taken care of without the state. Jason stayed on point and got the kid to admit that his position meant that force had to be used for the state to help the handicapped. He then brought up organs and how we have two of some organs and asked the kid if he was for forcing people to have surgery and donate their organs against their will to help the handicapped.

Bottom line, Jason Lewis gets it and is a joy to listen to.

Yes I generally like Jason Lewis, although his opinion on the Koran burning guy was incoherent. He basically was blaming the pastor for Muslim violence.

When I read the title I was kind of worried you were talking about this guy. Was afraid you might be seriously lost…

I do generally enjoy Jason, even though he sometimes takes the standard conservative lines. I think he’s a good guy, and he actually knows what the Austrian school is. As far as conservative talk goes, he’s the best I’ve heard.

Matticus-

That’s not really true, at least not that much. He’s against drug laws and the drug war. He’s against aggressive wars and interventionism as far as I’ve heard as well.

He’s anti-immigration, for one thing, but he’s really not a libertarian (though he leans that way). He’s just on our side of conservative.

Well,

As long as things stay the way they are, there are good reasons to be anti-immigration. I can agree with you that he is somewhat conservative and immigration is one of those things where you have to talk about reality as it is now and what it should be ideally. Those are different things, I think. You could argue that preventing immigration increases the size of the state, but in a socialist (leaning at least) and welfare state you could also argue that more immigration increases the size of the state as well.
