Richard Russell: fiat money will collapse

Who the fuck is Richard Russell? F4M, I created a thread for your stuff here, can you please use that thread so we can keep these low-content threads clear of links to things like this? Nobody but you knows or cares about what some random author of a crank quant book is saying.

At this point, what you’re doing has gone beyond simple trolling and can be described as nothing else than sabotage. I believe I speak on behalf of the community when I say that these low-content threads are a running record of current events that more than just one forum member cares about. Your posts are diluting and cluttering this record which reduces its present and future usefulness for the rest of us. Thanks for being a real curmudgeon.

I couldn’t help but laugh :frowning:

In the video at the top of the page, the reporter also mentions that Eiskant was under for other crimes as well.

Richard Russell.

Tom Woods interviews authors Jeffrey Tucker and Bill Kauffman; they talk Ron Paul, the miraculous but despised free market, decentralism, Steve Jobs, and more. http://www.libertyclassroom.com http://www.schiffradio.com http://www.tomwoods.com

Need some help; looking for a quote from Milton Friedman… a rare one, him admitting that economics is a priori. It was here on the forums at some point a few months ago.

Much appreciated.

@Conza

I’d say that’s a job for JJ. He seems to be able to navigate these forums like it’s a mutant power.

Greenghost2008 made a couple of videos talking about his left libertarian world view. Here are parts one and two.

What do you think about them? What do you think about the critique he raises towards anarcho-capitalism?

I have followed his channel for sometime and to me it seems like he is some sort of political/ideological weather vane. At the beginning of his channel he was some sort of tea partier and objectivist. After that I think he was some kind of open objectivist and minarchist who did not like Tea Party so much. Then he became anarcho-capitalist and now he is left libertarian who has sympathies for libertarian socialism. Oh… and if I remeber correctly he has said in one of his earlier videos that he was a leftwinger before he made his channel, when he still was in high school. There’s nothing wrong with changing your mind and world view when better evidence shows up, but I think you should slow pace if you constantly find that your former world view wasn’t right and that there’s this new, correct world view you can embrace as your own. You should be careful especially if you like activism because no one wants to go out and advocate stuff they later find to be faulty. To me it seems that people like this don’t have very good critical thinking skills because if they did, well, then they could avoid those incorrect ways of thinking before embracing them as their own. In the other hand it might be that I am not very good at developing myself as a thinker. I’m not sure how it is. Please tell me your opinion.

Before this clip was over, this guy had me literally saying “fuck you, dude” to him through the screen.

@JJ: It’s actually kind of sad, really. He’s like a mix of the worst of the modern Zeitgeist and old-school conformist disciplinarianism. I think it’s all summed up by his Marxism, “It’s not about you.” Actually, it is. I would definitely Fail any class of his.

It’s the same elitist bullshit I and every other American was fed their whole life. I can’t believe a supposed “libertarian” organization would put this kind of pretentious patriarchal crap out there.

*shrug - I don’t believe that Reason is, at root, a pro-liberty organization. Their primary mission is to promote secularism and it is my view that that agenda is consistent with the aims of other, definitely un-libertarian organizations, such as the Vatican.

Call me crazy (and I know you will).

When a guy quotes a statistic and says “You spend 2 hours 4_1_” minutes watching TV, you know he has no clue how statistics work.

3 significant digits? Really? And assuming that the national statistic fits his student demographic?

My biggest problem was the fact that he thinks it’s any of his business, regardless of how much time it is.

I was working on an essay while listening, so I didn’t hear much :stuck_out_tongue:

“The Mint is offering a prize of $50,000 in gold to the developer who comes up with the best technology to support its new digital currency, the MintChip.”

http://www.thestar.com/business/article/1159513–royal-canadian-mint-to-create-digital-currency

This is kind of funny, the Canadian Mint is looking to create something which sounds similar to BitCoin.

EDIT: Its also kind of funny that they are paying the winner in gold instead of Canadian Dollars, or MintChips. They know anyone intelligent enough to come up with the solution knows enough about currency and programming to know fiat currency is a scam.
