"Badgering people for not paying enough attention to you"

This is based on a recent exchange between Mr. Sanchez and myself in this thread: https://forum.freecapitalists.org/t/snap-responses-turns/17458

First off, I think this is an inaccurate assessment of what I was doing there. I’m not looking for attention per se. Rather, I’m looking to 1) see whether someone missed a post I wrote that was addressed to them, and 2) let them know that I’d like to hear their thoughts on the post in question. Typically the latter are in the form of friendly reminders. At least they’re intended to be such. My post to Xarthaz, however, was openly hostile, as I feel this user has intentionally avoided responding to my latest posts in the thread (s)he started. I don’t approve of Xarthaz re-posting arguments in other threads that have already been refuted in the thread previously mentioned.

Second, while I accept the rules as written, including Rule 8, I don’t see how my behavior as outlined above is inappropriate. Certainly I don’t see how it’s obnoxious or even annoying. Hopefully I’ve clarified my own point of view in the previous paragraph. Let me know if there’s any other information I can add.

First I want to apologize for calling you out publicly. I should have brought it up here or in private chat. Now, not responding to you is not necessarily “intellectual dishonesty”, and it is CERTAINLY no excuse to be openly hostile. What makes your friendly reminders so obnoxious is that they are so frequent, they are sometimes not friendly at all, they often assume ill-intent on the part of the non-responder, and when they have been answered with a “no thanks”, you STILL insisted. My advice is to try to WIN people’s responses with trenchant and interesting posts, instead of hounding them out of people with a full-court press of follow-ups and reminders.
