Recently in the news, a police officer (now probably former officer) was convicted of involuntary manslaughter of accidentally shooting at an unarmed individual. I deeply feel that yes it was an accident but the punishment does not fit the crime. They say he will be most likely sentenced to three to five years in prison. With that said, I feel that the justice system did not prevail. I mean, a man convicted of drug use has a much harsher punishment than this and this individual gets five years in prison. Give me a break!!! My question is, what is the libertarian thought on the subject of the matter?
