Build your own Village Construction Kit

Hi,

Have you seen this site? http://openfarmtech.org/index.php?title=Open_Source_Ecology

It is a project to develop and build a Village Construction Kit. From housing, energy, vegetables, live stock, tractors, industrial fabrication and much more. All from local resources! They project that the completed kit would cost less than $30,000 for an entire village (+ land cost). So a few friends can get together and go totally of the government grid.

This could be a great project for anyone who wants to be politically independent, e.g. AnCaps. Just imagine buying a piece of land somewhere quiet and just building your own village there. They already finished a machine that makes bricks from earth, a tractor and some production machines to build further tools. The cool thing is they also live with the stuff they built! So they really build their village from the ground up using their own technology. And if you like you can join them on their farm and help build all this stuff.

I think this could be huge. Just imagine if every AnCap used this construction kit and just built his own village with his friends. Totally independent economically.

Check it out and tell me what you think.

It’s been done:

I stopped watching when they showed the slide with “post scarcity economics” written on it.

I can see how being self-sustainable can have a lot of subjective value, especially with the monetary policy we suffer from, but these initiatives always seem to have underlying anti-trade, anti-specialization, anti-money themes.
