Is it harmful not to wear a burqa?

Yes.
But this should be up to the owner of the road to decide, right? If a muslim built the road, we couldn’t force him to ban burqas, right?

I was just trying to think of the only remotely legitimate reason for a state to ban them, which I think would be on the grounds of safety when operating a motor vehicle. The argument of thieves hiding and such seems to fall short since you can wear any number of other disguising garments. Since the roadways are owned by the government in the US, they would have the ability to ban them. But yes, if the roads were privatized and built by Muslims, of course they’d be allowed.
Again, I was only thinking of what the most legitimate reason for banning them would be, and even then, the burqas banned could only be the most vision restrictive variants. There are many that offer a decent field of view, and that cause little more impairment than wearing a hood. It’s for this reason a sweeping ban would be nonsensical and unjust (that’s to say nothing of the personal liberty issues).
What if muslims bought most of our society and made a law that women had to wear burqas at their property?

It is harmful to prevent someone from rightfully wearing a burqa. Should we outlaw dark places too?
That particular garb- as I mention over and over and over and over again. Is specific to afghanistan and pre-dates Islam. They were used as protection against sand when it gets windy- by both men and women- and kidnapping of females was common so this would make it harder for raiders to distinguish who is who. But besides that- the Chadri being forced upon people was thanks to the Taliban. They would force you to wear it or deal with punishment- so obviously that would not work in a libertarian society.

What is liberating is the ability to be one’s self. That is true liberation.
So women should be forced to go naked so that they can be completely liberated?
Under anarcho-capitalism people simply wouldn’t allow anyone in burqas on their property if they deem them a danger. Right now it’s practically impossible because of the “islamophobia” charges.
