Call Me Crazy, But (Swine Flu Related)

..am I the only one who thinks the media is deliberately blowing up this whole swine influenza thing to distract people from the economy, either because the economic policies they believe in would be shown in a bad light or because they support Obama’s centralized healthcare policies and would like a good, V for Vendetta style scare to make people support them?

I’m not suggesting the virus is deliberately started, or any gov is directly involved in this. But I find it mighty suspicious this whole virus thing kicked in just a few weeks after the G20 meeting.

The media is always in need of a fresh scare, almost any will do.

Look at the so called terrorist plots paraded in front of us every so often.

True.. since the MSM is opposed to the GWOT, maybe it’s not a political thing, just pandering to the lowest common denominator.

No its not. Not even remotely.

If you define the MSM as “Fox News and the Drudge Report”, definitely. But you can’t tell me ABCNNBCBS and the like are staffed with ardent foreign policy hawks.

Most major news outlets in the US are staffed by left wingers. Left wingers tend to be opposed to the War on Terror, though some of them don’t oppose the Afghanistan war.

Sure I can. No one questions the war on terror. No one questions the Department of Homeland Security. Have you ever heard the MSM criticize the alleged domestic terrorist plots?

For awhile, anti-bush sentiment manifested itself as anti-iraq war sentiment. But mostly in the form of, “Bush is bad because John Kerry would buy more body armor.”

The media parrots the official government line on all issues. From Osama to WMDs to National Healthcare. Why? Because if they don’t they won’t get interviews and leaks, ie access.
