A reader flags the troubling news, adding, “The Feds have not stopped cracking down on medical marijuana even though Obama said they would.” NORML is all over it:

Can the local police draw their guns and stop the federal police?

Why aren’t the local guys with guns, pointing them at the federal guys with guns?

Because they can’t win a pitched battle. But these kind of desperate acts were a contributing factor to the end of Alcohol Prohibition. The Feds murdered 23 people in Chicago during prohibition by poisoning alcohol. The more they keep this up, the faster they are burning up what little moral capital they have left on the “drugs are evil” issue.

Do you know where exactly Obama said he would stop this? I had someone at work tell me that it had stopped, but I’m not surprised that it really hasn’t.
