Do the Olympian Gods exist?

Lets say that someone told you that the Olympian gods (Zeus, Poseidon, Athena, Ares) exist. With a few modifications, everything is as the Greeks described it, literally (Zeus causes lightning, Poseidon causes water disasters, Ares causes conflict, etc.). How would you respond to his argument? If we assume this is true, what evidence would you need to accept this as true? If you wanted to, you could expand this for any statement like wizards are true, dragons are true, etc.

I also thought about Austrian Economics/Anarchy. To many people, the idea that Government intervention is coercion, Government intervention causes harm, and the idea that it is better to have anarchy and live without government is like the idea that the Olympian gods exist. Why don’t people accept its truth when they see its logical arguments/conclusions? Don’t you think this situation is, in some way, similar to the fantasy situation from the point of view of the common view of the citezen?

It’s not a stretch to say that theists and statists have a lot in common.

Wait, can someone explain the validity behind this statement?

well, science is a better explanation of the phenomenon than religion, because following the scientific method will lead one to perform superior predictions of the phenomenon contrasted with the religious method

That if you look hard enough for a relationship you can find it.

It’s not a stretch to say that cookies and bricks have a lot in common? [:D]

I only believe things when I see it, and so do most other rational people. When all you see is the state, the state is what you believe in. No one has seen a functioning society without the state, so they have no example, unlike religion and evolution.

Trying to tell them the state is evil, is like an atheist saying god is evil to a devout muslim, it makes no sense and is illogical. So they just listen to whatever they are told that seems to make sense…the state is good.

I’d think it would be illogical if an atheist aknowledged God enough to call him evil.

I would ask for proof.

I would have to see it and it would have to be repeatable.
