Does this quote about capitalism make any sense?

“Why do people come to America? Because the capitalist imperialist system of the United States has messed up the rest of the world even more than what it does in this country.” --Bob Avakian, Revolution Talk film.

I could think of a bunch places less messed up with a higher quality of life then the USA.

what does that even imply about capitilism?

I dunno, the terms he’s using are confusing to me. “capitalist imperialism?” Is he talking about multinational corporations?

Well you gotta remember that in Leninism imperialism is the highest stage of capitalism. So any imperialism going down is probably the fault of capitalism.

Typical apologetic bullshit uttered by the left because they refuse to blame the socialistic policies of destitute nations, and therefore blame the success of America’s (relative) capitalistic system on other imaginary factors. 1. America was prosperous before it became the ultra aggressive imperialistic force we see today. In fact, the rate of wealth accumulation was much higher when it was relatively passive (relative to today’s standard). 2. Many imperialistic societies were poor.

@Esuric: Really? That second point intrigues me; I’ve never heard anything like that before. Could you please explain?
