Doing Research on China and the U.S. Dollar.

Hello,

I’m an American student, currently studing intensive Mandarin in Beijing. In addition to language study, I am also doing a semester-long research project on China’s effect on the U.S. Dollar.

It would be most helpful if anyone could point me in the direction of any Chinese economists of the Austrian perspective that I could talk to, or even Non-Chinese economists living in China.

Journals or thinktanks that deal with this subject would also be helpful.

Thank you.

I know that Jim Rogers thinks in a Austrian Perspective and is a public promoter of the Chinese economy. As far as getting into what exactly Jim Rogers is doing or getting in touch, your out of luck. Other than that I only two other, Vitaliy Katsenelson (http://contrarianedge.com/). The other is Peter Schiff who also talks about China and I believe has a Chinese Mutual fund. He has good predictions but a few time sometimes bad timing on those predictions. Besides that I would suggest looking up “Daily Articles” on the Mises site or Lew Rockwell dot com.

I’ve lived in Harbin for a little over a year now. I wrote about my impressions awhile back:
