I personally think the new Xbox 360 Slim looks absolutely spectacular, but I’m not exactly sold on the whole Kinect experience (even if it may be an interesting concept).
KZ3 looks great, I just hope they don’t go the route of Modern Warfare 2 and completely abandon the plot for mindless action. I haven’t really got around to much else though, I’ll have to devote more time later.
But, Microsoft definitely hit a grand slam with the re-designed 360, what a nice look. If something that is not covered by the warranty decides to go on my 360, I may be tempted to pick up the slim version, purely because it will fit seamlessly with my entertainment system.
My big disappointment came from SW:TOR more and more it looks like World of Warcraft - Star wars Edition rather than something really new and fun. It’s like the spirit of Raph Koster and SWG has gone from MMO gaming entirely of late…
Quote by Libertyandlife:“Metal Gear Solid Rising looks like it’s going to finish off the MGS series (make it go sour), though peace walker may have succeeded with that.”
I dunno what you’re talking about- Rising looks super fun. Its a super different approach but I think they said they wanted to have a “rising” series be released along with the normal stealth-style Metal Gear.
The Nintendo showing was just amazing. Throwing a new game from pretty much every franchise they have and the 3DS looks like its gonna be tough not to have fun with. I wonder when they’ll get around to making another F-zero.
Rising will be derivative garbage, but you are wrong on Peacewalker. 20 minutes into the game and it is just great. I can almost forgive Kojima for forcing the Naomi & Otacon romance in MGS4.
On topic, I more or less agree with TheSpoonyOne’s take on E3, although I have no opinion on things like xcom, but I disagreed with his negative views on Nintendo, who is the only one at E3 who wasn’t copying off of someone else.
Kinect & Move look ineffective, & I look forward to both companies losing money over persuing sales in what they initally brushed off as a “fad” (Nintendo laughs in the background as they have utilized “SCIENCE!” to make 3D work without glasses, special add-on equipment, etc.)
I’d wish they put Sonic out to the pasture, & let competent fans via open-source make games instead. I never got into Dues Ex, but the 3rd has gotten me interested. Look forward to that epsecially since I won’t really need to have played the first two to ‘get’ it.
I was disappointed at the lack of “The Last Guardian” for PS3, it’s the only console game I’m anticipating at the moment.
I’m more of a PC gamer myself, so I am patiently awaiting Portal 2 and Civ 5. Both look to be amazing.
Rage is getting a lot of hype, but so far it looks like Borderlands with better graphics. If it has a decent story, I may pick it up, but id isn’t known for their story telling abilities.
Kinect and Move look terrible, complete non-starter’s. I can’t wait until the motion control fad dies.
