Wisconsin’s Gov. Walker says state workers should pay 5.8% of their pension fund up from 0% now. They should pay 12.5% of their health care up from about 6% they pay now. And he wants to stop the unions from deducting dues from workers pay checks.
A small business owner pays 100% of his health insurance and typically half of his employees leaving the working man to pay the other 50%. The working private sector man pays half his social security his company pays the other half. Any fiscally responsible small business owner knows Social Security will never pay off even though he paid in twice as much.
Thousands of protester embark on Madison, Wisconsin’s Sate capital to protest the the hardships imposed on the public workers. The public service union morons blab about the hardships on the working man. The working man. Holy crap. Do these idiots even realize that the real working man, the guy who pays every nickel of their salary, 100% of their pension and 94% of their health care (the state guy currently pays 6% but he’s paying that out of the tax money you gave him in the first place). The statist attempt to commandeer another revolution and the little violinist weeps.
Finally the Tea Party. Ron Paul started it Sarah Palin runs it. Beware the sandbaggers.Atlas shrugged and the little violinist fell.
I don’t know if this post is worth responding to. I just had to rant.
I’m not even sure I would say Ron Paul “started” the Tea Party…but I certainly wouldn’t say Palin runs it. That’s even less accurate than saying Barack Obama runs the world (despite how much Kanye might believe it.)
It’s not as simple as pointing out that unionized public teachers earn more than the average private sector worker (when you include benefits and all). Microsoft’s top computer programmers also make more than the average worker. Should we also demand that these computer programmers take a pay cut? Of course not.
The difference is that computer programmers “earn what their worth,” because Microsoft has to pay them a competitive wage while still making a profit. The wages of programmers are based on Microsoft’s ability to sell a product at a price consumers are willing to voluntarily pay. The wages of public teachers are in no way related to the ability of public schools to satisfy “consumers,” but instead based on the decisions on politicians. As long as the wages of public teachers are paid from tax money stolen from the population, it will be impossible to determine what their “fair” wage should be.

I think they recognize it. That’s why they refuse to address it. They are sandbaggers, rather than address fiscal issues even one of their third graders could comprehend. They change the subject. They play their favorite card “public service”. It usually goes something like"we’ve dedicated our lives and careers to teaching your children" or protecting you from criminals or putting out fires. All these are necessary services and have absolutely nothing to do with the solving the budget deficit they created.
Imagine a group of computer programmers storming into Bill Gates office and demanding more money than Microsoft takes in. Bill might ask them how do you expect the company to meet your demands? Their response is “We have devoted our lives and careers to programming your computers”. Thank you but how do you expect the company to meet you’re demands? “You could sell some bonds”. How do you expect the company to repay those bonds with interest? "Lotto tickets, ya that’s it you can sell some lotto tickets. At this point Bill is looking at them the same way you look at a homeless guy who’s drooling and babbling on the bus. As Bill gently guides them to the door he explains that the Human Resources dept will provide referrals for some excellent psychiatric services or drug rehab.
