Errors and Loading Time Issues

David did some tweaks today. Seems like it works right?

Well it’s roughly prime time and pages are loading so… So far so good!

Edit: Thanks David for your work on the weekend man. [B]

Yes well done, things seem to be ship-shape.

It’s working on my end. Whatever David did, it seems ok to me. with sincere gratitude - [:)]

Ok not sure if you noticed. Went down for like 2 minutes. that last one was abnormally longer then the usual timeouts. Perhaps its something else…

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. :frowning:

Its pretty bad atm…

Yeah. [:S]

Thanks for jinxing it! GOsh! Now I am getting runtime errors. I blame you of all people[:P]

Me too. It’s really quite bad, and I’m fairly patient with load times.

I have a feeling CommunityServer is just not cut out for big sites. It’s lightning fast for Freedomain Radio (which I am NOT a member of; I just went there to check its speed, because I know they also use CS), but that’s not as big. While another big site had similar issues:

We are using in our company Telligent Community Server 2007.1 SP2, and we are having a LOT of timeouts from this tool, it is just not satisfying anybody.

Our CS was 2007 SP1, having many timeouts. So a person from Telligent suport suggested an upgrade to the current version, 2007.1 SP2. We did it, actually I think it is worse than before.

The website is published on a dedicated server, we have another server dedicated to forum database. Both computers have processing and memory resources available. Application pool is allright, database timeout is fairly big actually (300s)…

We do use enterprise search, since we have around 2.5 million posts. Database was reindexed (table data) and recompiled (procs) today.

It’s not me! I blame the overwhelming popularity of Lilburne’s Action Comics. It’s all HIS FAULT!

It is terrible for me right now.

Every now and then the search function brings up a relatively insufficient amount of hits. Recently it only shows threads and posts dating back to this December. I cannot search the posting history of users either.

FYI, for me, member profiles don’t include “Recent Activity” anymore.

I noticed that, too.

When David changed caching, it broke recent activity posts, but that’s ok if the system works better. In general we’ve seen improvement.

I’ve been trying and trying to get Telligent to let us upgrade. Please take our money and let us upgrade! they are slow or something. Very frustrating. David and I were even talking about plan B

NO! Not the famous plan B approach![:P]

(don’t ask…lol… a little humor in the morning[:)])

The number of pages do not appear to me correctly. As an example, the thread “Why is the banking sector . . .” appears, in “Active Topics”, as a two-page thread. But, when I open it, it has five pages.

Obviously, this is a market failure. We need the government to force Telligent to provide us with the service, as it would benefit the greater good (us at Mises.org), at the expense of the greedy, money-rejecting Telligent. It is only fair - the Internetz is one pie and Telligent is denying us our piece. One dollar, one Gigabyte of bandwidth!

UPDATE: Misesians of the world, unite!

So get this, and please don’t throw eggs at me. It turns out that I (as in I) was sitting on an unanswered email from them – so much for my asshole customer routine I tried to pull on the phone this morning. The delay was mea maxima culpa!

The good news: we have now the license for 5.0.

I can see Veks doing his thing later today!

Then prepare for CSS complaints.

Sooo…new car smell?
