Does a lil dance

Things seem to have gotten a lot faster. Nobody better jinx this!

It’s fixed guys. Now no one breath or do anything. If it starts breaking again we will know clearly that Laughing Man did something!

This is how I feel now

Yes it seems to have been working for a while now. That is great.

I do miss Recent Activity a bit though. It was useful as a tool to trace my traceworthy posts. So I would welcome it back if it was not among the culprits for the problems experienced earlier and if it could be brought without the unwanted side effects.

Seconded. Old threads that were great sources of reference are now “HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.”

Yes also RSS feeds come in blank in my inbox. They used to send a part of the article. Now they are sent blank.

I’d like to see something from the old days return.

I used to be able do a search for Rothbard, say, on the media page, and get a list of links to mp3’s that I could just download with a single click [with Flashgot on firefox].

Now the links are to other pages, so one has to download one file at a time, clickety click all over the place.

Is it just me, or is the site timing out a lot today?

Horribly so.

Hey, notice anything? to me the whole site seems light and easy, including this forum. whew!

So face with the crush of iTunes, we hurled off the media onto another server. And look at the difference!! Seriously, I think this must have been our problem all along?

Tell me what you think.

Could well have been. Delivering rich media usually needs a particular server setup.

Thanks for the update and hard work Jeffrey.

The website does seem a lot faster after today’s slow downs.

That’s my sense too. I kept trying to persuade Isaiah and David to offload this community to a sep server. But they were actually convinced that moving media would fix it. Well, david is cautiously optimistic right now. Of course I’m my usual extremist self, totally convinced that all problems are solved.

Itunes and Linux don’t mix well. So I’m hoping I can still download things from here.

This is an addition, not a subtraction. It gives more new options but doesn’t take away any old ones.

openness is the theme.

Awesome.

Doesn’t this seem better than ever? I guess we’ll know more later today, but I’m really fired up about the prospect here.

well, how did we do? Seemed like a great day to me.

No problems, no errors.
