evidence for and/or against the theory that an all powerful state collapses?

Why didn’t the union collapse during the the War to Preserve federal revenue (i.e., how could it sustain itself)? Was it because the CSA might have been as powerful?

Also, how is North Korea stil able to remain as a state? Is it not nearly as bad as the U.S. government/MSM likes to portray it, or do they have some enemy unwittingly keeping them alive or a combo of both or neither?

We know that it was not Reagan who caused the USSR to collapse, but rather they collapsed on their own, and U.S. efforts kept it alive longer. We also know that Hitler was kept in power unwittingly by the forces of Churchill and FDR, so that’s why I’m asking the above 2 questions. Of course, I believe that an allpowerful state collapses quickly if there is not outside interference, but I can’t exactly explain why the Union didnt collapse and why the state of NK hasn’t collapsed.

Guns and brainwashing public opinion?

Don’t see how that’s hard. The Soviet Union collapsed because it couldn’t keep up it’s military control over it’s various sattelite states. North Korea is far more concentrated.

As to why the Union didn’t collapse…why would it have? I’m not sure I see your arguement there.

I was thinking it could’ve gone bankrupt or someone from inside who was unhappy with it could’ve rebelled.

But public opinion makes a lot of difference and Lincoln was popular among the Northerners, so perhaps that explains it. However, I’m, not sure that a state, if it’s deeply unpopular, can last forever.

China and South Korean military/corporate interests between them are sustaining the North Korean system. Quite wittingly.
