How do people fall for this s#!t?
This is sad. As a private pilot I’ve always regarded the sky as the last frontier not completely overrun by the Feds (well besides space, and only for small airplanes). My dad has been a pilot for 40+ years and has never had his license checked once. In fact, it’s so tattered that it’s unreadable. Nobody pulls you over if you fly through a cloud or tickets you for other frivolous things.
I really hope this doesn’t lead to more FAA oversight in the world of small planes.
Wasn’t this same alert issued a few years ago? Are they running out of ideas? How about terrorists hiding explosives in their shoes and underwear? Oh wait, they’ve already done that, silly me!
At this point I don’t really think people buy into this absurdity anymore. It’s just background noise: when you cry wolf continously people stop paying attention. More ridiculous “safety” measures are met with the same tired acceptance as new taxes and war: at this point nobody really believes they are there to “stop terrorists”. It’s just the government going on a delusional omnipotence spree.
Somehow the FAA and NORAD between them couldn’t stop four very large commercial aircraft from being used as they were.
