I have read a lot of history books and such on Greece and Rome, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to get mp3 or videos on ancient Greece and Rome without all the hype and same ten stories over and over again?
Not that I have found. MIT and Yale do have good 101 open course lectures in Greece and get bit more depth in Rome, but nothing too extraordinary for someone who has a firm enough grasp on the 101’s.
However, if you haven’t seen HBO/BBC’s ROME, it’s really cool to check out how they retold some of the classic narratives and went for the “historically authentic, not historically accurate” aesthetic.
This also assumes you are not asking about primary source literature on podcasts.
