Just wondering if there is any book here at mises that specifically focuses on the issue of public verus private health care. Maybe even a brief history of health care in the United States. I’m from Canada and I’m sick and tired of nobody (on the internet forums [make fun of my nerdiness]) believeing my first hand bad experience with public health care. I’m really just looking for a little more academic information on the American side. I’ve done a quick search and havent found a specific book.
I’m not going to pretend to be any kind of expert on this, but I read a book called “Running On Empty” that shows why entitlement programs have already bankrupted this nation. To me, it seems a logical step to assume that any more burdens placed on the public tab (such as a single payer government medical insurance plan) add to the unsustainability of this country’s finances. But that’s just me.
