It is truly amazing how our congress has been able to deflect the financial turmoil onto our banking and financial systems, when they are directly responsible for creating the turmoil.
Their GSE’s Freddie and Fannie; their created moral hazards of implied guarantees; their mindless regulatory schemes and their coersive mandates and dictates have so far escaped public scrutiny. Eventually one would hope that the bright light of truth will surface.
Given that congress has breached the moral trust conveyed to it by our citizens through our constitution, it may happen sooner than later.
The recently passed House Medical plan (with its 1900 unread pages) indicates to me that Congress is totally out of touch with American public opinion.
As we enter the next round of legislative antics, I can’t wait to witness the public’s push back.

It doesn’t help that most people download their opinions from the Nationalsocialist Broadcasting Company, the Collectivist Broadcasting Service, the Authoritarian Broadcasting Company, the Faux Objective Xchannel, and the National Propoganda Radio.
You’re being generous, imo, but perhaps I am too much of a cynic nowadays.
I don’t think a solid “cure” to such propaganda & mass disinformation will be found until someone re-creates the Internet & only modifies (keeping everything else the same) it to prevent commerce from occurring (i.e. either through architecture or social means), preventing the wedge issue that would allow Statists to garner control of information, while keeping it sperate from other Internet(s) that allow commerce (& would more than likely have Statists attempting or even having more or less total control, like the proposed Internet 2 & the ACTA treaty).
