How would you, as an AE adherent, explain to people who have absolutely no clue about AE’s, the ways goods/services would be supplied to them other than the way they are now?
For example, many towns/cities employ sales taxes, property taxes, levy’s, bonds, etc., to pay for fire dept.'s, police, schools, roads, etc. Many residents simply don’t know any other way. They believe they should just pay the taxes, etc., (up to a point, obviously) and have the goods/services provided. How would you summarize your ideas (much like a politican would I suppose) as to why your alternatives are superior and how you would implement them?
Say you have two supermarkets in your lil town. One is a wal mart type place, employeees are not paid much, prices are low. The other has huge marble office buildings where fat emplooyees do nothing all day but stare at the empty shelves. The townspeople decide [for some reason or other] that one of the two has to go. Which of the two shoud they keep and which should they get rid of?
The point is, anything the govt does is ineffecient and wasteful, giving you little to nothing for the money they take from you.
Think about this: why is it ILLEGAL to compete with the post office? Because the post office would not stand a chance. After all, they lose money WITH NO COMPETITION as it is.
All the things the govt provides have to be paid for. Not one thing do we get for free. So the question is, are they giving us the best price, or is it likely that a private company competing against other companies would get us better stuff at a better price?
