Inflation and Renting

If major inflation hits, would it be better to be a renter or a rentee?

If you are a renter, you most likely won’t be able to raise your rent because of rent control laws/price gauging laws. Or, you could sell the property at the inflated price, however, who would want to buy a property to which rent prices cannot be raised?

If you are a rentee, your rent won’t go up in accordance with inflation because of rent control laws.

You answered your own question. I met a couple of landlords a few years ago at the Liberty Summer Seminar who told me about how they kept getting ruined by that.
