How is it that we have allowed our children to be taught socialism to our children? It is in all grades and post secondary. Our children have essentially no knowledge of this country’s constitution or of the struggles of our founding fathers.
Does our constitution allow for the feds to be in charge of educating our children? I live in the worst state in the US, California. Depending on what part of the state you live in, as to the degree of socialism being taught. I live in the San Joaquin Valley and there is little socialism here. We are just struggling to survive here with 42% unemployment on the west side of Fresno county and 16% unemployment in Fresno itself. So, here socialism is not at all widely accepted.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what my argument can be to some of these educators regarding the title of this email?

You might like to read John Taylor Gatto’s Underground History of American Education. It wasn’t always this way, and Gatto shows you what it used to be like and what changed. You’re right that originally the federal government was not involved. Originally the states were not involved, either. But thankfully the righteous New Englanders went on a crusade to bring Christianity to the dirty Catholics invading our shores, and the true patriots all realized that we’d never have a good army like the Prussians if we didn’t have a “good” education system teaching everybody to take orders, and now here we are! Envy of the world!
I’m also sure that Murray Rothbard’s Education, Free and Compulsory is good, but I’ve never read it. I’m pretty sure I’d agree with everything he has to say, but knowing Rothbard he’d probably multiply my historical knowledge on the subject by ten and making the ethical issues involved a thousand times clearer.
Give up and free your children from the matrix instead of hoping to reason with the robot overlords. Seriously; there is no way to win this one; at least not like that. People with power will never as a whole give it up no matter how much logic and persuasiveness you apply. You can go crawling to them and beg for your freedom, or you can take it; and thankfully under California’s present system you can take your freedom in this regard legally.
Children do not need to be raised by an institution, particularly not an institution funded by socialism and with attendance compelled by force.
