Anarcho-capitalism is sort of specific. Non-aggression.
To some people, freedom means bunker buster bombing Afghanis, cluster bombing Iraqis and drone missile attacking Pakistans. It also means the freedom to salute the flag, to pay taxes, and to receive tax redistribution.
Ancap is much simpler and precise.
As I understand, the word anarcho-capitalism was coined to deliberately annoy the group that called itself anarcho-syndicalists.
When the neoconservatives started referring to conservatives as “paleoconservatives”, Rockwell thought it would be a hilarious parody to call himself a paleo-libertarian.
His friend Justin Raimondo jumped the funny name bandwagon and called himself a paleoconservative paleolibertarian.
In truth, nobody cares about labels, and if the people of the state call themselves humans, Dr. Rockwell would immediately start the Post-Human movement.
This is incorrect. David Friedman, who is quite independent of LvMI and LRC also uses the term anarcho-capitalism to describe a free market in law and defense.
State isn’t a problem, ancapistan isn’t the answer. The problem is wrong ideas rooted deep in human mind. Change bad ideas with a good ones and the State will vanish.
Which is totally irrelevant to the origin of the word.

Anyway, there can never be an “official” definition.. after all, we are talking about the internet, lol.
Freedom, properly understood, makes anarcho-capitalism inevitable.
Minarchists claim that the state is inevitable, but in fact the opposite is true. No minarchist society can prevent the collapse of the state’s monopoly without transforming itself into a police state and thus betraying its own constitution. That is why I wrote the Challenge to Minarchists.
