a) please do not delete my posts>
b) do not bother providing your wholly irrelevant opinions about the character of my posts.
c) why do you think you can censor what I say ?
You do realize that a person who joins the military and plans to NOT follow orders is in a worse position than a person who doesn’t join the military ?
Do you realize that joining the military means either :
you would be murdering whoever your masters tell you to murder 2) or else helping people who commit those murders
OR you’ll join the military in order to become a conscientious objector - which I don’t think is what the OP is looking for. Better get a job at McDonalds or WalMart.
You are not going to starve anything. You are only going to cause (a lot of) damage because you are a self-serving individual. Disabuse yourself of the idea that you have anything to do with libertarianism except as its enemy.
and the local shopkeeps from which he buys his whares, if they are not direct murderers they are enablers of enablers of murderers?
in otherwords, its murderers i morally object to. enablers of lesser or greater extent i merely aesthetically object to, to the extent that my subjective perception of the ugliness of their cooperation strikes me
It just depends on what you can live with and your own morals. By joining the military, you are definitely helping kill other people. Of course, I think anyone that pays taxes is as well. So if Juan is paying taxes, and you go into the military, I don’t see how there is really much difference, unless you actually kill people. I pay taxes as well, and I accept that I am partially culpable for those that die because I pay taxes.
I say either go for it, or join the freestateproject.org and move to New Hampshire where you will find many other people who have similar beliefs as you do.
Sorry, I don’t think I follow. Members of the military (paul was one) either murder directly or provide ‘support’ for those doing the dirty work. Not sure how shopkeepers enter the picture though.
Do you own a bike? You seem to be devolving into the military without much resistance to it. If that is the case then why come on here and ask questions when you already had your answer?
they ‘support’ whoever buys product from them. i.e. you me, ron paul, some unkown murderor.
this could easily splurge into an epic thread on the meaning of ‘support’ and of the boundary issues. i think its moot. i think morally ,murder is wrong. but saying ‘hey murder that fellow’ is an ugly act but not an evil one. it is merely a proposition that is a statement of support for an act , and it is that act for which the supporting statement references that is the only evil act. in the scenario described of a murderer and a ‘verbal supporter’
I know that joining the military generally means making the world a worse place, just like taking most public sector jobs. I was more wondering if anyone knew about the politics of approving military spending in Congress, so I could know whether I’m just taking the place of some dipshit or actually increasing Air Force spending, with little hope because I’m looking for knowledge from military spending wonks. I’m nearly homeless, 3/4 employers aren’t hiring, and no one wants to talk to me.
