It’s not about being politically correct. The US government has used 9/11 as an excuse to murder or make refugees of millions of innocent civilians. That’s not funny. One day, blowback might hit someone close to any of us. That also will not be funny if that happens.

I realize many Americans are divorced from the brutal actions of their government, which is why so few oppose it’s murder and destruction, but are more than happy to whine about the injustice of Ron Paul’s immigration positions. But it’s not funny.

I’m guessing you’re talking about the people here oppose Ron Paul’s immigration position, and rightly so, I don’t see many of those advocating the Iraq war though. Unless you’d like to point some out.

In any case I don’t see how the joke was harmful.

If voicing condemnation of Paul’s immigration position is resistance, then I am going to take a leap here, and say that the silent paying of taxes and obedience is consent.

I don’t think I need to remind anyone here that anti-semitic jokes, even if they are only jokes, are totally counter-productive to the Mises Institute. Ethnic jokes are always low brow, they certainly betray a collectivist attitude.

We don’t have to be PC, perhaps just mature and intelligent.

How are they counter productive exactly? They are exactly as you said, jokes, and the more quickly you accept them to be that the quicker they lose any effect.
