I’ve heard these stories before and don’t believe them. Every single person I have met that smokes pot, has reduced cognitive function; they are slow to respond, can’t keep up with conversations, poor memory ect… It also shows up in their writing which becomes more and more incoherent. The extent of the damage is directly related to how much and how long they used. I know brilliant people and none of them ever touched marijuana.
I know, I know I’ve heard all the propaganda stories of brilliance and pot, yet have never met this in the real world.
Actually no it is not, it is extensively sourced to medical research. I like my brain you are free to destroy yours.
This is so typical of pot head mentality - you cannot even follow the conversation. Nice strawman arguments, too bad I never made a case for the abuse of other drugs nor the legality of it. I don’t care about the legality, I care about the propaganda that it is as safe as candy.
Most of the links he posted have been refuted or other conflicting studies have been released. Just google search “benefits of marijuana” and you will see all kinds of stuff pro and con, both providing statistical, empirical, lab testing evidence which allegedly debunks the others.
Feel free to Google it up. I don’t need to refute Poptech on this matter. His zeal undermines his sincerity in that respect. Most of the pro/anti marijuana arguments are entirely fruitless and argued from folk who haven’t the first idea what they are talking about.
Is this an accusation of me being a pot head? I don’t smoke or drink (no more than 2-3 times a year, and not enough to even feel the effects of it). Up to this point in my life I’ve only smoked marijuana twice and during those times I felt no negative effects.
Lol ok so all the studies that say marajuana is a benefit or the ones that debunk the ones you posted are lies because you say so. But the other way around they are fact because you say so. Ignoring the inherent flaws of biological research and emperical studies do yourself a favor.
Esuric, are you going to defend your claims against my arguments? Here they are again in case you missed them.
What institutional elements would you put in place which could help ensure that the government does not grow beyond the point you intend it to be? It seems pretty obvious that no government would remain that small for any length of time.
Also, as other people mentioned, there are many ways to get around taxes. If people do not comply, you think that you have the right to shut their business down and possibly economically ruin them and their families?
Do you really want to be taxing some of the final consumer goods that bring the greatest utility to people? Do you really want to be taxing medicinal substances (marijuana, opiates, cocaine, etc.)? Do you really think it’s fair to tax a minority of the population in order to subsidize everyone’s police/law/defense and other people’s transfer payments?
If we must have a government, then the fairest tax would be some kind of flat tax on income or poll tax or a combination of the two, IMO. That way, everyone pays for the ‘services’ they receive from government.
There are no studies debunking the ones I posted. You just “think” there are, this is the same tired propaganda. What is funny is your Google search comes up with the exact opposite of what you think.
THC also stays in your body for up to 30 days. So if I toke today and crash 20 days later, I obviously wasn’t DUI but I might test positive for THC.
This is how I know you’ve never smoked pot. I don’t know a single soul who is addicted to pot, and I sure as hell know a lot of potheads (and former potheads).
