Most emperical drug tests are highly prone to error and are largely misleading. There is just as long of a list of tests showing where cannibus can be beneficial, and that list is just as erroneous. The problem is the science measuring human health is inherently prone to error.
I don’t smoke pot but when I read through most of those tests they seem silly from the getgo. Scientists desperate to find a correlation. Many of them do this as a job, getting money from whatever interest group that wants to create a statistic which sheds a certain product in bad light. It’s remenescent of icecream sales coorelating with homicides in NYC during the summer. The consensus is the ban the sells of ice cream.
Look just about every type of food out there has issues , allergens, and otherwise physiological effects that cause problems. Even mainstream scientists cannot decide which foods are healthy and unhealthy. There is a reason why there’s a hundred different types of diet and workout programs.
Have you ever dealt with pot users? I have and you get a wealth of documented symptoms, increased depression, paranoia, schizophrenia, memory loss, reduced cognitive function ect… Long term users are absolute idiots.
My problem is not with the legality of it but the perpetual myth that it is as harmless as a sugar pill. For the record I fully support people being able to give themselves brain damage as quickly as possible.
You’re not the first. They seem to ignore users who know what they’re talking about and prey on the weaker arguments. I guess it makes them feel better.
Well I can only give you personal experience to that, but let me just say that many of my closest people of influence, friends ect.., in my life actively participate in smoking marijuana. Some more than others. All of which are fairly well off and successful, not the type of shallow people you’ve described them to be. I’ve never seen such behavior as you described above. When I was much younger the smartest kid in history class was the one who smoked pot and watch the history channel every night. He schooled our history teacher daily.
Many of my present friends are up and coming businessmen. We tend not to hang out with louts so I haven’t experienced the stuff described above. I’m somewhat of a healthnut though so I choose not to.
That neither proves nor disproves your argument though, which was what my point was. I think you missed it.
Esuric somehow knows that the people living under his Minarchist government would be happy to pay their taxes a priori. I still wonder what institutional structures will be put in place to help ensure that the government does not begin a route of expansion.
see, the problem with any welfare is that it not only increases public expenditures, but also artificially increases wage rates, which hurts small businesses, reduces competition, and drives up the prices consumers pay for almost everything.
These and the other 88 links you have to support your case doesn’t make marijuana anymore dangerous than something such as alcohol (which is perfectly legal, and used more than marijuana). As other people have stated, I have friends and know people who smoke pot regularly and they are some of the most in depth people I know. I knew people who graduated as honor students who smoked marijuana and I know people who read philosophy who smoke. I also know people who smoke marijuana and are flat out lazy (as that’s really harmful). There are people in their 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s who smoke regularly and have good careers with a large income. You talk about all the medical problems involving marijuana and all the crimes, but you ever consider all the physical/mental problems get from drugs they are prescribed by their doctors? The people who pay for them legally and end up worse than before? I know of more people who were mentally “unstable” from prescription drugs than anything else. You’re finding links to back your case without taking a step back from the situation to realize the entire case is bullshit. People smoke, whether it’s legal or illegal. People still smoke cigarettes even though television is littered with advertisements to stop smoking, they ban it in bars and restaraunts (I was at a show not too long ago and during every band it seemed 1/3rd of the crowd went outside to smoke). You can’t change people’s habits by force, nor by the State making a law against it. You can’t legislate morallity.
