So, I have figured a few thing out since my last post, so I don’t need to get insulting.

The question to ask people, is whose rights do I violate by not paying taxes?

From what I have seen, they will either respond no one’s rights, but it is the law, or they will respond that I am violating everyone’s rights.

If they answer the latter, I then ask how I can get a fair trial if I have violated everyone’s rights? If they answer the former, I ask how the law is applicable to me, since it is not a contract? Then I just watch them stumble over themselves.

However, the law one can be a little more difficult as they say crap like I get to vote or I was born here. If they say I was born here, I just say that slaves were born into slavery and that didn’t make slavery moral. If they point out I get to vote, then I have to try and show them that it is rule by might makes right.

I tried to argue with a judge once about why I had no obligation to serve on a jury and accused him of holding me against my will. I think I made some valid points. He said something like “too bad, its the law, deal with it.” As fun as it may be to trap people in gotcha arguments, it never gets you anywhere.

The reason that I didn’t have to serve on that jury was that I was an offensive prick, and had nothing to do with my argumentive prowess.

It’s really easy to avoid jury duty, if you’re willing to lie or say just weird things to the government which - for some reason - most people do not think of. Tell them you think all blacks are criminals, that all cops lie, that you believe in God’s law and not man’s. Stuff like that will get you off pretty quickly, neither the prosecution or the defense will want anything to do with you. I have no idea why more people don’t do this, it’s trivially easy and kind of fun.

If he says it is the law, I would ask how the law is applicable to me. Is it a contract? If not, than how is it relevant?

I like the way Marc Stevens uses the slave master’s rhetoric to entrap them.

When they say it’s the law, just say ‘so what’, there are soooo many laws that I can’y help but to break at least three a day.

I never said they were not. I am just talking about talking to regular people. When they keep asking how will society work without government, I just keep asking them whose rights I am violating by not paying taxes and if I am not violating the rights of anyone, then how can there be a case. I just think it is important to press them on the immorality of forcing people to pay taxes.

Spideynw, Spooner had pretty good argument against “being born to vote”. He said, a man is none the less a slave because he is allowed to choose a new master once in a term of years. So just because we are allowed to vote and choose masters who enslave us it doesn’t make more just than ordinary slavery. Sure, this situation could be said to be “better” on utilitarian grounds or something, but on principal it is the same.

I just think it is easier to point out no rights are being violated by not paying taxes than to try to explain government is rule by might makes right.
