Life sucks when I find myself growing sympathetic with Republicans

I can no longer feel any joy in Bush, Reagen, or Nixon bashing. The thrill is long gone. I just watched The Watchmen today (I remember LOVING it as a teen when I read it) it’s a good movie don’t get me wrong, but why the hell does Nixon have to be president for 5 consecutive terms? It’s like they wouldn’t allow evil to fall under a Democrats rule, not only that he got 100% of the blame for Vietnam. I just saw an episode of MASH earlier this week and they blamed Ike, not Truman.

Honestly in the movies or TV I don’t think I can recall Democrates being blamed for war, drafts, or acting like Big Brother. They have just as much blood on their hands if not more and they get off almost scott free. It is very scary to me. How many movies portray a modern Dem in a negative light such as Frost/Nixon or W. I should be enjoying films like those mentioned but instead I just see them as left wing propaganda.

When will people learn that the Democrats may even be a bigger threat, and that it is impossable for a left wing philosophy to be pro peace and anti authoritarian? It is a very sad day that I can no longer laugh at Republicans.

you were watching a movie in which watergate is never known publicly. nixon’s conspiracy to power , never exposed , goes further, imagine him a more fully corrupted president than he even managed to get in reality.

Seriously, the Watergate scandal now looks charmingly quaint. The Left has never forgiven Nixon for shellacking their Messiah George McGovern. Kind of like how they still tremble with rage over Pinochet.
