Screw drivers are goofy. Usually when someone orders a screw driver it is a girl who will have an ill tempered boyfriend who I will probably have to bounce out of the bar. The boyfriend will usually order 1 of 4 things assuming it isn’t beer a) Red Bull and Vodka b) Cran Vodka c) A Jagerbomb as a drink d) Long Island Ice Tea. If you add Galliano to a screw driver it it is called a Harvey Wallbanger. Galliano is known for three things a) Harvey Wallbingers b) an intersting looking bottle that sits on shelves for years collecting dust that people will occasionally ask a question about c) A bartenders billy club in times of self defense; such as when that screw driver chick’s boyfriend thinks you are giving his woman the eye and starts the fight he was inevitably going to start anyway.

If they are listing basic cocktails why no Bloody Mary, Manhatten (made with american rye)/Rob Roy, Americano, Sidecar, Mojito, or Old Fashioned? Those are all tasty drinks and actually cocktails as opposed to some of the other selections. Snubbed!
I would advise against drinking multiple White/Black Russians or Singapore Slings. 1 is fine, more than that you are asking for trouble (to sweet and/or milky)
The Martini was not mentioned, and a real martini requires gin btw. And good Gin =/= expensive. Many expensive Gin’s are crap for teeny boppers
We (Ohioans and Michiganders I think) call Jungle Juice a harry buffalo I think. And it usually involves everclear or moonshine, so that isn’t really an item to be sold at bars.
ha neat. esquire actually has an article this month on mixed drinks that includes a discussion for how the singapore sling has apparently changed over the years. I’ve never liked the sling, so i can’t remember the recipe and whether it differs from lrc.
i agree it is strange they don’t include other classic cockatils. my favorite drink on the planet is an old fashion. and the best one i ever had was at the crunkelton in chapel hill, nc. goooood time.

i ordered one in this Irish Pub in Colorado (and I look thoroughly Irish) and he gave me the weirdest look. I thought he was looking at me like it was a girl’s drink so I said “I don’t really drink, I like it for the taste.”
He said “you don’t really drink, and you want 151?! We don’t serve that here” and pointed to a sign about unruly drunks not welcome lol. So I got a beer and we all sung a couple Irish Jigs. It was a fun bar
Aye, I don’t think I’ve had or made a Sling the same way twice, than again I have probably drank less than 5 in my life and made less than a dozen. If it happens to be on a drink menu I usually check to see how they do it, it is usually different. Old fashions are good though
Never heard of the Carribou Lou, but rest assured I would have judged you for it. I am not joking when I say dudes who order drinks like that and have something like 151 in it usually cause problems. At least in my experience. Bartenders are usually weary to dole out the 151 anyway.
But honestly, I feel weird and get all paranoid if my alcohol buzz starts gettin intense. And then I just stop. I haven’t gotten more than a buzz on alcohol in a decade.
I got it from the rapper “Tech N9ne.” It’s good. If you could just get the alcohol taste and not the buzz (at an affordable price) i could probably drink it just as a drink… and really would prefer it that way.
Student: It’s also my favourite. What’s your prerfered recipe? I’m not a fan of the ultra-traditional rye 'n lime blend, I prefer bourbon and a slice of orange in there instead
