Marxist "rebel news" attacks Rojas Wal Mart article

This guy has to be a joke.

Also, how do I embed the actual vide on this forum?

That dude is an idiot. His hatred of capitalism and it’s follies are shown to be contradictory in practice when he is drinking a giant liter ‘o’ coa cola in another video. That’s pretty hardcore to hate capitalism, but to buy COKE and then show it like a free advertisment.

His point that women work more and more shouldn’t be a good thing. Work is not an end in itself. But we’ll overlook hat to undermine our ideological antithesis.

Also, people who work less, and have more time to pontificate, tend to be the ones who make more profound breakthrough in thought, right? The ones who follow their passions, when opportuinty is to be had, and aren’t forced to work 16 hour days are the ones investigating subjects that aren’t practical. They tend to be the aristocracy. Sorry about that fact of history and life. It is human nature to not want to be the one working 16 hours and be able to sit and read books and shit. Tell that dude to get back on the machinery, Plato is above his head.

He calls ‘us’ a group with no following. We’re got a few candidates running for president. He has a movement that is constantly bought off and usurped by the militant wing of collectivism then sold as capitalism to keep him and people like him (the masses) in a toilet bowl of thought. Using miscontexual evidence to encite emotional response, that’s pretty honest. Circular logic all around me, oh my!

Yes, he is a joke. Watch his other videos on the mises institue for a few more laughs, especially this one

That’s what I thought.

Well, I was using a bit of sarcasm :stuck_out_tongue: … He’s not actually a joke, but he might as well be

This is from his blog,

“The Supreme court, hand-picked by Republicans to be anti-worker, made a predictable decision. Now, more than ever before in recent history, is the time for a major resurgence of unions. The folks who say unions are somehow no longer necessary have been proven dead wrong.”

hahahahah. Uh sotomayor and kagan? handpicked to be anti union? pro women?

Marxism itself is a joke. If marxists understood economics they’d all be misesians.

What do you think it is that makes marxists tick? Why do they blame markets or “capitalist bosses” for everything? Are they just confused? Same thing goes with "anarcho-"communists and mutualists/left-libertarians.

Right. The difference between anarchists and communists is reason and long term (unseen) vs. emotion short term (visible immidiately)

It’s not just marxists. Some of the biggest anti-capitalists are self-described “anarchists.” Even “free market anti-capitalist anarchists” like Kevin Carson do nothing but bash on capitalism. Why? Are they just overly-emotional or what?

That wasn’t really meant as a set in stone statement.

But capitalism is a term i refuse to use to describe free enterprise. Capitalism, to many people is to capitalize (by any means available : Randian) or that capital interests (financial) rule or that it simply refers to the capital structure.

I think the word is used as a scapegoat for people who want to advance anything but the status quo. When GWBush is defending capitalism it is political suicide to try and defend it. That is easy for emotional ideolouges like communists and utopians and like religious cults to refer to when people are desperate.

This is why we all have different ways of distinguishing our own version of ‘it’ from the words used to marginalize or generalize an idea too much for our liking.

Same goes for music genres.

i started a flame war with this dude on his blog, hopefully it will take.

One thing I don’t quite get about these types of folks is their constant use of curse words, his 5 minute spiel must have had over a dozen explatives. Perhaps it goes hand in hand with their appeal to emotion?

Also noticed that he was incapable of making more than one statement at a time, notice all of the fade ins and outs. He must have spent a lot of time thinking what to say on this one?

He does have a point about the situation being a litle fascist though, while the banksters were too big too fail, it seems (far out on the sidelines anyhow) that Wal-Mart is too big to sue.

Regarding the communist drinking coke, that’s sorta like the vegitarian wearing leather shoes, watta contridiction.

I wonder if he realizes that he, like all of us, is discriminating on a daily basis?

I’ve seen him on Youtube, but watched one of his latest videos as if it were a trolling experiment; I’d say it’s within the realm of possibility. But he seems too sincere so I assume he isn’t a troll.

he even says on one of his videos that detractors or trolls make him money!!!

HAHA for what??? Advertising!! he hates capitalism as he makes money in a pretty innovative setting…and for very little effort.

I called him out on 3rd world child labor vs. gender equality in pay. Who cares more about humanity?

K.

The socialists that piss me off the most are mutualists. I always ask myself why they agree w/ the marxian views of capitalism but then claim to support free markets as long as markets are dominated with coops. If they love markets so much why don’t they become voluntaryists?

Check out that Moaist Rebel News blog the Wal mart and the jon stewart posts have his responses to mine. Ad hominem, red herring, glittering generalizations galore. He has nothing and knows it. It’s kind of funny that so opinionated idealouges like them can know so little about their own philosophy.

This is the same guy who thought Mises Academy was going out of business because they had decreased their prices.

I love MRN - he’s so, uh, emotional…?

Haha, that was a classic episode.

was that thread on here?

Is it just me or is it much harder to argue between the minutia of anarrchist philosophy and its many different styled beliefs than completely rejecting an idea like Maoist communism?
