Media's (fake?) dichotomy

Apparently, if I am reading the mainstream news right, there seems to be two sides developing in a new kind of global polarization.

On one side, you have the Axis of Putin:

Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Lebanon, Libya, Italy, Brazil, India, Cuba, Belarus, and Ukraine

On the other side, you have the Axis of Obama:

United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Serbia, Georgia, Poland, Taiwan, Egypt(?), Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Guatemuala, Australia, and New Zealand

However, I think if we took a more realistic and balanced view of things, the long run might show this polarization:

Side I: United States

Side II: Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Lebanon, Libya, Italy, Brazil, India, Cuba, Belarus, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Serbia, Georgia, Poland, Taiwan, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Guatemuala, Australia, New Zealand, and everybody else.

Yes, even Israeli government is on the path of creating a pariah nation.

One Israeli minister saw an arrest warrant for her in UK - the exact same treatment given to Pinochet!

Let’s understand this. Turkish men have died fighting in America’s wars in Korea and Vietnam. Turkey in its fight against communism agreed to take upon American missiles, thus placing millions of Turks at risk of being on Russia’s crosshairs on the outbreak of war in any part of the world. In gratitude, when Israeli commandos killed Turkish civilians on the activist’s flotilla, United States officials did not say a word about THAT. Ignore that the flotilla itself seemed to have a dubious purpose, but even when a defensive attack exceeds proportion, the American government is not concerned that two of its allies have turned against each other.

Would anybody be surprised if Turkey’s government now permanently moves away from United States government?

I think we can firmly place Australia in the American camp. The Australian government - backed by the US military - claims a huge amount of natural resources both mineral and agricultural, the vast majority of which cannot be used due to the nation’s puny population. 1/3 of them (on the right) want to stop foreigners from making use of these resources, while another 1/3 of them (on the left) want to stop anyone from making use of these resources.

What would happen if the US left Australia to fend for itself? The Indian, Indonesian, and Chinese governments greatly covet Australia’s resources and any one of them could easily crush the pathetic 20 million population nation. This is why, with the USA as their hegemon, Australia has always and will always support all the wars of the USA. In fact if it weren’t for the USA, the Australian government’s control of the continent from which it takes its name would have been broken up 70 years ago by the Japanese.

Things are more fluid than both scenarios. And in the zero-sum game of politics every state is against every other state to one degree or another.

In what respect is there a polarization? Militaristically? What are these countries supposedly taking sides over?

Canada does $700b in annual trade with the U.S. There’s no chance of Canada-US relations changing.

Resist, it’s mostly a matter of whose wrongful activities are to be sanctioned or not sanctioned.

If the US side tries to bully North Korea or Iran with sanctions or otherwise, Russia comes to guard them. If the Russia side tries to bully Georgia or Eastern Europe, the American side again comes to rebuke them.

It’s sort of like that.

Yeah, the Canadian government is pretty much wholly owned by the American it seems to me. But culturall the Canucks are often more like Europe in not liking the American Empire. Though they like a lot of things that just about as crazy.
