I recently joined the community, and I just uploaded a scanned copy of an article in one of Norway’s two top business dailies. It ran Saturday April 18.
The article is in Norwegian, but the view is great in any case.
The article is on books about the present crisis. The title translates into ‘No Crisis for Crisis Books’.
The section on MeltDown by Dr. Thomas E. Woods, Jr. says after listing author and book title (my translation):
Ronald Ernest Paul, also known as Ron Paul, became world famous for his attempt at becoming the Republican candidate in 2008. Paul is a consistent libertarian who thinks the Republican party stands too far to the left and has given up its free market ideology.
Ron Paul has written a cheering foreword to this book, which has sold very well in the U.S. after it was released in February this year. That says almost as much as the book’s title about the book’s ideological content. Woods believes the many help packages for the economy is like curing the hangover of an alcoholic with a case of beer.
In November last year, the Progress Party’s [a Norwegian political party] Christian Tybring-Gjedde said to Finansavisen [the name of the business daily] that Bill Clinton’s attempt at running a social housing policy, combined with former Fed Chairman Greenspan’s setting of interest rates [this sentence doesn’t make sense in the original Norwegian either]. The historian Woods agrees. In this book he goes into the details of why this is so and predicts that things will get much worse without a severe change of political course in a market liberal direction.
