Basic math is helpful, but it is overemphasized. I suggest you read Economics in One Lesson by Austrian economist Henry Hazlitt and The Concise Guide to Economics by Austrian economist Jim Cox.

Since you asked how many model cars would have to sell to make exactly $50. There is no number that could be sold that makes exactly $50.

Altho - if you charge $2.90 instead of $3.30 - then you could sell 40 model cars to make exactly $50.
