As far as I know, there is not much debate with people who disagree with Austro-libertarianism at the Mises Institute. Sure, on the forums there is debate, but not much official debate.
There was the Murphy-Smith debate and there is a debate about abortion in the Libertarian Papers, but I do not see anything else. There are no upcoming debates scheduled.
People ask on this forum and offline how to be more persuasive. Well, Mises Institute debates would offer practice to its most eloquent spokespersons and show that, unlike other think tanks and institutions, the Mises Institute is not an echo chamber.
After he was awarded Gary G. Schlarbaum Prize for Lifetime Achievement in Liberty, Walter Block asked people to debate him if they disagreed. Send him a dissenting email and he would be happy to respond for that is how the truth is found. However, most people do not debate. Most schooling, in my experience, is memorization, regurgitation, and then forgetting old information as one memorizes new information to pass tests and write papers.
I want to see debates about anarcho-capitalism, socialism, business cycle theory, etc.
Mises Daily has slowed to a crawl recently, so why note have a Mises Institute fellow and outsider debate on the front page. They can each post and respond to each other.
