Mises Store

What does everyone think of the mises store? Anyone know how long it takes to ship to Canada? I’m not really in a rush, just curious. Is there anything there you recommend?

I’ve ordered several books and t-shirts from the Mises store. I live in the United States and the items I’ve ordered typically take a full week to arrive. Everything I’ve bought has been shipped from Colorado and the shipping seems to be more expensive than shipping for merchandise purchased from a large retailer like Amazon. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you how long it might take for a shipment to reach you in Canada, but I’ve heard that it’s more expensive.

In short, shipping is more expensive and less timely than big retailers, but the stuff I bought arrived in great condition.

I did my best to get the cheapest alternative, ship from local stores, shipping companies, by air, sack etc. (I’m in Australia) - Mises Store ends up still being the cheapest & best alternative. [:)] Amazon doesn’t do super-saving free shipping or whatever it is. So it’s $12.95 an item essentially.

Mises Store does it by weight, thus the big books cost more in shipping, thanks to USPS cost system.

The books that will prevent you from getting the Flat-Rate charges will be the larger and multi volume works:

"Man Economy and State Scholar’s Edition,
Human Action Scholar’s Edition,
Money, Bank Credit and Economic Cycles,
Mises: The Last Knight of Liberalism,
Socialism,
The History of Economic Thought,
Conceived in Liberty,
Left and Right,
The Complete Libertarian Forum,
The Freeman,
Reassessing the Presidency,
The Bastiat Collection,
Liberalism,
The Theory of Money and Credit

There might be one or two I left off, but any of those titles included in your order will prevent the Flat-Rat from appearing. You can try different combinations, but the primary factor for calculating shipping cost is the weight, the more you buy, the heavier the order, the greater the shipping charge becomes." - Thanks to Willard from Mises Store

Recommendations - depends on what you want to learn? The area etc. Lot of stuff in pdf you can browse before hand or hear on audio.

Looks like a good opportunity for an entrepreneur in Canada or Australia.

The Mises store is good. I’ve bought a few things from there, and it’s come in perfect condition, and it takes about a week.

The only advantage in shipping from Amazon, as somebody who lives in the United States, is when the book is in the range of $25-$29, because you get that free super savings shipping, or w/e. However, that shipping is not nearly as much as what you save from buying from the Mises store in terms of cut costs (well, depends on the book - but, the majority are very cheap compared to Amazon.com). And, Mises’ customer service is unrivaled, even by Amazon.

Plus the mises store has some baller items like the leather money clip and the lapel pin - can’t wait to represent at the poker table. I order the Hazlitt and Rothbard collection. That will leave me with a bunch of duplicates, but I figure I’ll just lend out the doubles, or maybe give them to a very close friend. I am excited to wear my awesome t-shirt collection as well :stuck_out_tongue:
