I don’t really care that earth has a feminine, form. It makes sense and goes with custom. tradition, and history, and people who bitch about it usually don’t know what they are talking about; that is it is simply an idiotic reactionary approach to things.
What is odd though would be the insistence call such a thing when it isn’t called for (ex: if the language doen’t have a gender specific noun to it). In our cosmopolitan and secular day and age it is almost a form of reactionary spiritual propaganda/ theocracy* (or in the literal sense of the word since “theocracy” and “spiritual” are gibberish, political) against something. I think this whole attitude may sum up why I get so irked by progressives, other than the fact that they are really the only political force that really matters to worry about or pay attention to any way. The rest are just too ineffective, ass backwards, or too crazy to take seriously or think about.

It’s quite obviously a projection of their own Mother. Like Jesus and God is projection of Father.
Liberals tend toward idealized mom. Conservatives toward idealized dad. Which is why it is near impossible to challenge their institutions and expect a rational response most of the time. Or expect much in the way of rationalism in their rhetoric. Unless they have done self-examination. Which is very unlikely, unfortunately.
I know I asked why it “has” to be Mother Earth on another thread, but I was kidding about it. You’re right, it is a matter of tradition and custom, nothing to whine about.
I don’t quite buy the whole religion or politics = mommy/daddy thing. It is a complex phenomena that could have a plethora of equally valid narratives that I don’t care to think about or discuss. Any attempt to focus on one true narrative is probably fooling oneself, and most likely psychologizing. Not only that psychologizing a narrative and not a real person, so that’s silly.
What is very true though is when you have a centralized force (such as conservatives, etc) proclaiming gibberish, it is very easy to point out the gibberish being spoken of. And yes when they go off on “mother Earth” or something like that, you can easily demonstrate that they probably don’t know what they are talking about or are just trying to assert their own kooky aesthetic gibberish over another equally valid kooky aesthetical gibberish.

It depends on the language, and more over context. In English, while “it” is fine, there is nothing wrong with using “she” (as one could do with a ship, etc). It would be wacky to use “he” though.
However to insist on calling it “Mother Earth Day” via political methods is blatant theocracy, trendy theocracy, but theocracy never the less. And since the word “theo” is gibberish, it simply means subsidized politics pushing one cultural aesthetic over another of equal “validity”. I mean there is nothing stating any approach to polytheism, monotheism, or pantheism / masculinism or feminism of any stripe can be more logical than the next, any more than sfsd is more logical than joiihfo.
And to call some method “worth considering” more than the next is false as well. That is if we have some giant alien like Deism, a state of artaraxia (or since it is more hip to be Eastern, whatever the hell state Buddhism is supposed to put you in), reincarnation, or a type of Brahmin or whatever, these are probably worthless things to consider on a personal level; but on a politcally subsidized level it is down right insane.
P.S I guess there are a couple of pretty popular you tube video peopl out there who seem to really mix psychologisms, libertarianism, and maybe even atheism as well. I don’t reccomend taking these guys too seriously. They seem to like to construct nice and neat personal narratives a little to easily without as much support behind them as you may think.
I am no expert on any of these channels, but from the hand full of videos I have seen I am not impressed and you can get the “hard facts” elsewhere, which is all that matters anyway, while constructing your own life narratives as you go.
The state or the dominating institution of the time exploited the religions to control and manipulate the population and the religions exploited the concept of spirituality. The belief systems use the human emotions and personality, love, hate, anger, guilt and similar with the fear of eternal misery as the ultimate mechanism of control.
The relation that was drawn with the belief systems and the family through out history was interesting and i would like to hear more on that. But i was not completely convinced.
