So, I don’t know about you guys, but my family get’s together on Mother’s Day. Anyway, politics came up, and my father had the most frustatingly hilarious doublethink. I was trying to suggest to my family that since we live in MA, we might as well not vote for Romney so as to send a message to the Republican establishment since our vote doesn’t matter in MA anyway.
Anyway, they brought up that they should vote for Romney because of the possibility of supreme court nominations. I said that it doesn’t matter. Let Obama and liberals take the blame. People will become disillusioned and the supreme court will lost legitimacy. I mentioned that there is historical precedent for people ignoring supreme court rulings (e.g. Andrew Jackson). Anyway, my dad goes ahead and says that ultimately that leads to lawlessness.
Here’s the best part: later on, my dad and uncle were talking about how the US might be headed for civil war if things don’t change…I’m sorry, but what? How you do think a civil war happens? People think that the government has lost legitimacy…
