Need help Formatting my posts...

Hello all

How do I format my posts correctly?

All my text is in line… Is there a formatting FAQ?

Please help!!

The forum is broken for a little while so you have to use html now.

Try what’s shown here: http://www.tizag.com/htmlT/htmlbr.php.

Hi,
The problem being worked on. Please bear with us.

this ought to also work

just hit ‘source’ in the upper left and paste that into your posts

I have hacked together a fix. What do you think? Any bugs?

testing teh haxxxxxxx

So is it working now?

lets see…

Lets see if this works

hmmm…

Italics?

I put a hidden field and horizontal rule just testing features randomly. I thought the hidden field was going to be one of those “/spoiler” type things. Anyhow, I tried to preview and my post was blank. Then I removed it and realized preview is just broken.

There are some things I really like about this compared to the old one.

  • sub/super-script is very helpful
  • source/add link button without opening a new window
  • remove formatting button
  • maximizing the editor size

Some things I would like added/changed:

  • More serif font variations like the old editor, at least Georgia. (typekit in my dreams)
  • logic/math symbols added to the special character tool (and the ABCs removed)

I could come up with tons more minor tweaks, but as a temporary thing this is way better than having to type html. Are you going to work up from this or is it just temp. related to (whatever the forum software is anyhow) being upgraded? CK editor I linked above is newer and the UI looks better. FCK was abandoned IIRC.

The “Quote” button at the bottom of the gray box above the editor is broken, by the way.

If the forum is broken this will give RevLeft some reason to say capitalism does not work.

Yup, the “Quote” feature isn’t working.

I think I found the solution at html tutorials

I’m pretty sure they’ve bought their forum and license from a capitalist (vBulletin).

You can still type in

quote user=“username”

inside [brackets] then the quote then “/quote” in brackets.

Also there is a convenient new quote button above the font and size dropdown with a " icon.
