What do you mean, ryan?
Hmm, I dont have that issue. You can also try another editor.
With the old forum I could select text and insert a URL into that text by pressing the icon that looks like a chain link. If I do that now a box does pop up and I can past the URL into the window but there is not button to press in this wondow that allows me to insert that URL into the text.
The forum keeps on crashing when I submit a quick reply (with firefox, updated version.)
The same thing happens to me.
Editing isn’t working for me. I edit my post and press the post buttion but it just reloads the page without correcting my post.
You cant edit your post in the box you typed the original text in. There is a box below it that says “Edit Post” that you have to type into.
I had the same problem with editing, I’ll see if mr_a is right… TEST
Nope, I still can’t edit. The page just reloads whenever you hit “post”, and I’m not sure what box mr_a was talking about. There are boxes for “edit notes”, but that doesn’t do anything to the post.
Youre right, sorry. Testing editing Edit Note
The problem is that I made the “Edit Note” required, but the page doesn’t tell you that.
Ah! I see.
This sentence is an edit.
What’s the point of requiring edit notes if they aren’t visible to other posters? I’m not trying to be rude, I promise!
When I typed in “Edit Note”, it was visible. What did I do wrong?
Oh, I didn’t realize that. I can see them as an administrator.
Users could lie about the reason for editing, anyways. I think putting a timestamp on each edit and allowing other users apply their own levels skepticism to each post with a late edit is probably the balance between usability and readability.
Oh I see, it works now ![]()
Thanks
I’ve noticed a huge delay (10 minutes) from when I post a reply to when it appears, without any explaination as to why. Am I alone in this?
There have been delays and part of the reason is that I’ve stopped getting notifications on posts that the software has snagged as a spam suspect. So I’m just logging in and approving them.
David had written a great spam thing that is disabled in this version, so that is a problem.
We’ll get there. I mean, many of the problems that were here a week ago are gone.
Thanks, by the way, for not assuming that just because a post doesn’t appear or is sent for moderation that we don’t like you or something. This is purely a software issue.
I’m a software developer too, and I’ve given my code far more nefarious and painful glitches. [:(]
