This is the news I’ve been waiting for, not in anticipation, but in apprehension. Act I of the New World Order in the 21st century began with 9/11. Act I has been closed with the supposed death of bin Laden and the phony withdrawal from Iraq. It is now time for Act II: War with Iran. The whole show is a bit behind schedule as the Elites were furiously beating the wardrums when Obama first came in to office, only to be rebuffed by public opinion which was more concerned about the financial crisis and weary of the unending wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
They rammed the Iraq war through the UN and I’ve suspected for some time that they’re going to repeat the same technique with Iran. I have a feeling that the Elites are planning to lay their cards on the table during this coming year so by this time next year, I expect that we will know for sure whether they’re really planning to blow up the whole world this time around or if saner heads will prevail.
@Jargon: It would keep the gov’t checks rolling out the door (including the phony ‘stimulus’), so everyone would hail Obama as a hero and the nation’s savior… until about Jan. 2013 when the reserves were depleted, prices skyrocketing and unemployment in mid-double digits.

It’s possible we’ll see a colossal blowback in Iran yet again: it’s well known Iran has no immediate capabilities to build a nuclear bomb but they do have the technology, the money and the connections (Kim Jong-Il is only a phone call away and could use the cash) and feel increasingly surrounded. They know in a straight shooting war they have exactly zero chances against the combined might of NATO, Israel and Saudi Arabia (irregular warfare is another matter, but by that stage most of the Iranian leadership will be dead or hiding in a hole like Saddam and Ghadafi). So they may be tempted to burn the midnight oil to have their own Samson Option. Kim Jong-Il and Israel proved once you have nuclear weapons you can become the ultimate “rabid dog”, too dangerous to bother. It doesn’t matter if your weapons are crude and your delivery methods unreliable (see North Korea), having the deterrent is all that matters.
According to an US Army paper, Israel’s nuclear doctrine evolved over the year from the brutal Samson Option into a sophisticated bargaining chip. During the 1991 Gulf War Israel trained her nuclear-tipped Jericho IRBM on Baghdad and it took Bush I lots of money to convince the Israeli not to pull the trigger. It’s highly dubious Israel would have reacted with a nuclear strike to any conventional attack, but in the end the Israeli leadership got money, weapons and political cover, just what they wanted. Right now Israel is using once again the nuclear bargaining chip to take out Iran: one of the key points of the Israeli nuclear doctrine is using it do deny another Middle East country the possession of similar devices. I bet that old scoundrel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has made it abundantly clear to US and European leaders: cut Iran’s legs or else we’ll do it ourselves by any means necessary. Israeli conventional weapons cannot destroy the hardened structures housing the Iranian nuclear program, but their nuclear weapons easily can. Their technology, according to the same US Army paper, is on par with the Americans’ and Russians’. Western leaders are probably pondering whatever to bow down to the “rabid dog” once again and pay a heavy price to avoid an even bigger catastrophe or calling the bluff and see if Israel will really take such a step or is simply using the threat to obtain more. Now, those same leaders are not made of the same stuff as Eisenhower. US politicians are always all too happy to please the immensely powerful Israeli lobby (future historians will long wonder how the wealthiest and most powerful country in the world was so easily controlled by a minuscule State) and European politicians are easily bribed, blackmailed and controlled (see how the German government helped Israel to obtain 300 tons of yellowcake through Operation Plumbat), all the more since France, the country calling the shots in the EU, has an extremely pro-Israeli leadership.
In this less than inspiring scenario there’s somebody missing: the public. The voters. The taxpayers. The ones who will foot the bill of an attack on Iran. The one who were promised “cheap and plentiful oil” from Iraq and were left with ever-increasing energy bills. I have news for you: you don’t matter. Your opinion and your declining lifestyle don’t matter. At least do yourself a favor and stop thinking by casting a vote at the ballot will change the course.
