But how do these people manage to criticize the “rich elite” as if they are not a part of them?
It’s a trick that they know, and everybody else doesn’t.
That’s why they get $100,000 speaking fees and that’s why the losers who pay them do so. The former pull it off, and the latter always fall for it, and both deserve what they get.
The best thing about Mencken was that he didn’t give his fellow men much credit, and as I get older, I am inclined to believe he was right.
So if they’re rich, they’re hypocrites, but if they’re poor, they’re greedy? Certainly there are better arguments than that.

Michael Moore once said something to the effect of, “No one criticized for Founding Fathers for getting rich off of the king’s system before starting the United States.”
As far as I know, the majority of Founding Fathers were dirt poor anyway. Michael Moore literally has no sense of economics.
There is no way to deduce wether or not these guys genuinely believe in what they preach.. However the fact that they make so much money for what they preach doesn’t help confirm that they are intellectually honest either.
Personally I think Krugman and Chomsky should be given the benefit of the doubt over Michael Moore… although I am not a fan over any of them

What if taking back what the state has taken from you includes taking the wealth of others and taking it as your own? I know it’s one thing to be in favor of getting back your own tax money and stuff like that… but like there’s a point where it becomes outright theft from your fellow citizens. Two wrongs don’t make a right either.

Leftists are allowed to because they are simply taking back what the rich have already taken. And they’re right, because the rich are in bed with the state.
Rupert Murdoch also runs a fascist enterprise. Anyone can say they’re a libertarian or an an-cap. It doesn’t make them so.
