Not perfect, but still...

Talking about this.

Especially that muslim part. If he had inculded all religious sects, he would have been 100% cool. Still a refreshign read.

EDIT: Ok, I just got at the military part. I must apologise fellows. Do not read it.

lol “especially that muslim part”. I’m a Muslim and I’m not going to kill anyone for not believing in Islam. Would you say that I’m not a Muslim? That I’m not following the fundamentals of my religion?

But its ok, there’s always confusion when it comes to Islam because certain cultural habits that have nothing to do with it have been twisted into being part of Islam.

Like how he mentions “honor” killing, or murdering people because they aren’t believers, stoning people to death, genital mutilation…none of that is found in Quran. They are very old tribal traditions which Islam came to wipe out- but some things unfortunately don’t die. Of course its real easy to lump brown people into the Muslim category because it fits a narrow agenda where you never have to think with your head and just say “yeah! you’re right YEAH!!! USA! USA! USA!” . Honestly, I find this confusion to be abit similar to how socialists confuse Capitalism with mercantalism.

Although I guess I might prompt an argument with this post- its not my goal to have an endless debate on why I believe that if you think Quran advocates aggression(when it advocates defense and justice)- you have a poor understanding of the content and context of the verses as well as trashy tranlators. But since you’re apparently anti-religion, I have a feeling you don’t care either way as long as anyone who believes in God is painted as a murderous psychopath. If I’m wrong about that then just PM me if you wanna know why Quran DOESN’T include or advocate any of those acts of violence.

Man, half the people I know are Muslims and they are very decent people, who’d never thing of harming a fly. But they are not so because they are muslims, rather despite being muslins. If one has the healthy habit of not taking religion seriously than all is well.
